The Foundation is Swimming … and we do it well!
“PLC teaches swimming faster than anywhere else.
“We came for swim lessons, and got so much more”.
“More swim time - less hanging around waiting … and my daughter can’t wait for her swim class”!
CHOOSE YOUR STRENGTH
Green
Bubbles and Stars - the ability to perform a back float, place face in the water and blow bubbles in the water for 10 seconds. At this level, swimmers need coach support in the water.
Bronze
At the Bronze Stage (previously High Blue) swimmers are refining training skills, and start building strength and conditioning. They will learn to dive and turn. Bronze level swimmers can join our Junior Lifesaving Sport practices - pool and beach.
Silver
To enter Silver swimmers must be able to swim 50m in under 50 seconds and train in a large group setting. Here we continue developing our training and racing skills.
Seniors
Blue
To enter swimmers must be able to swim multiple lengths of a 50m pool independently. At this stage we refine fr/bk strokes, develop breaststroke and introduce training skills.
Gold
Swimmers in this group must be able to swim 50m under 40 seconds and know all their strokes, dives and turns.

IF THEY ARE ABLE, SWIMMERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND AS MANY AS POSSIBLE*
Green level swimmers are only provided Saturday and Sunday morning options at the present time.
Silver/Blue level swimmers are encouraged to train once during the week and AT LEAST once on the weekend. If weeknight times are taken consider a morning session.
Bronze level swimmers and above are encouraged to register for Lifesaving Sport Practices Saturday afternoons, and begin learning the surf skills at camps and courses during the summer.
We begin ocean training/instruction for surfski kayaking and prone paddle boarding in early May and open water swimming in June.
Gold level swimmers interested in improving their skills/speed should consider training 2-3 times during the week and 2-3 times on the weekend, especially to prepare for competitions - Team development meets, High School Swimming, local, national and international lifesaving sport competitions)
Swimmers from established clubs seeking technical feedback often augment their club practices with one/two PSA/PLC practices.
Lifeguards seeking ways to build or maintain strength, skills and/or conditioning are encouraged to train with us either weekday mornings or at the Saturday lifesaving sport practice.
This year is going to be a big year in that we want to prepare all our Gold level swimmers for multiple competitions (High School meets (2), PSA development meets (2), Training Camps (1-2) and Lifesaving Competitions).
*Lifesaving practices are not available for green group swimmers

As we return to the pools, we will practice in training cohorts that remain small and stable throughout the season. We are dividing the team up into two training cohorts we are calling the Senior and Junior Cohorts. The Senior cohort is further divided into sub-cohorts called Gold and Silver. The Junior Cohort is divided into Blue and Green sub-cohorts.
Swimmers will need to arrive with their bathing suits on, under their clothes.
NOTE: Parents are allowed on deck to watch. Parents are also encouraged to register as a Masters swimmer. Contact Phil for more details.
-
We structure fees to encourage attendance at more practices. The more children swim – the faster they learn. Therefor the total price is based on the number of weekly practices plus an annual insurance/registration fee of $100. The first practice hour is $30/week and every subsequent practice hour is $10 more.
Please contact us for more details.
Fees for Special, Spring, Summer and Winter Clinics, Programs & Camps may be different.
